Celebrating Safety & Sustainability at VT Garment!

This week, we concluded VT Garment’s Safety Week with an engaging event in our canteen – and it was about more than just safety! We combined it with our sustainable environmental initiatives, focusing on waste management across our factory.
Thanks to these efforts, we’ve successfully reduced factory waste by over 40% – that’s less waste going to landfill and a significant step towards a greener future!
We were honoured to welcome the Deputy Governor of Bangkok, who visited us to learn from our initiatives and share these best practices with other organisations in the city.
As part of our Fair Trade Premium Project, every employee received a reusable water bottle, helping us eliminate single-use plastic bottles.
To make learning fun, we hosted interactive games in the canteen, challenging our team to correctly sort waste – from fluorescent bulbs to food residue – into the right bins.
A special thanks to our HR Manager, Khun Sukrudee, for spearheading this initiative and ensuring its success. Your leadership made this possible!
This is just the beginning. Together, we’re building a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable workplace for everyone.

We are delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Chalumpon Lotharukpong, in his esteemed role as the Vice President of the Thai Garment Manufacturers’ Association (TGMA), has recently signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI).

This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration across multiple fronts, including research, industrial promotion, and work placements. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both TGMA and TNI, we are committed to driving innovation and excellence within the Thai garment industry.

We were honoured to have Associate Professor Rungsun Lertnaisat present at the signing ceremony. He shared his insightful thoughts on the collaboration and its potential to revolutionise the industry. His support and vision are invaluable as we move forward with this initiative.

One of the key objectives of this collaboration is to develop and implement Smart Lean production techniques. This approach will not only enhance operational efficiency but also significantly boost the competitiveness of Thai garment manufacturers on the global stage.

We are confident that this partnership will pave the way for groundbreaking advancements and set new benchmarks in the industry. Together, we are poised to transform the Thai garment sector into a hub of innovation and sustainable growth.

Big Cleaning Day 2025

Today, VT Garment held its annual Big Cleaning Day, a key event in our 5S workplace organisation tradition since 2008. This year was particularly special as we prepare for the Thailand 5S Award in 2026.

The event began with an enthusiastic kickoff meeting, where teams were briefed on the 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain. Employees were divided into teams and assigned areas to clean and organise. The camaraderie and shared purpose were palpable as everyone worked diligently.

This Big Cleaning Day not only readied us for the Thailand 5S Award but also reinforced our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence at VT Garment.

Competitions like this not only challenge our team members to apply what they’ve learned but also ignite excitement and pride in what we can achieve together. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to TGI for their invaluable contributions.

We are thrilled to announce that VT Garment has been awarded the highest level of LEED certification—Platinum! This prestigious achievement is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and excellence.
A big thank you to our dedicated team members and the brilliant consultants from SCG for making this possible.
Achieving LEED certification means that our building uses resources such as water and electricity efficiently, minimises waste, and maintains excellent indoor air quality. We excelled in Waste Management and Energy Conservation, scoring nearly full marks in both categories:
Over 35% of waste is diverted from landfill
Our energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are world-class, outperforming comparable buildings globally.
Our indoor air quality is top-notch, with a TVOC level of 32 mg per cubic meter—earning full marks.
This recognition reflects our continuous efforts to create a sustainable and healthy environment for all.

GSD, an internationally recognised software owned by Coats Digital, is widely used to determine sewing standard times and is trusted by manufacturers across the globe. Coats Digital is part of Coats UK, a 250-year-old company and the world’s largest provider of sewing threads.

Achieving this certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to Lean manufacturing and Kaizen/continuous improvement. At VTG, we believe that excellence begins with a solid “standard”, and our pursuit of perfection in refining that standard draws upon over 40 years of expertise.

To secure this certification, high-calibre consultants from Coats Digital conducted rigorous audits, assessing the creation of our standards, the precision and consistency of GSD practitioners, and the direct impact on achieving world-class efficiency.

Additionally, automation in feeding and extracting workpieces from cutting and sewing machines, along with the use of sewing templates for quality consistency, are paving the way for efficiency and excellence in production. Exciting times ahead for the industry!

One standout innovation that caught our attention is the transformative potential of generative AI. Imagine harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to drive significant productivity improvements! At VT Garment, we’re always on the lookout for innovative solutions to enhance our operations, and the possibilities with generative AI are truly inspiring.

Moreover, we were intrigued by an application showcased at the fair that digitises the shop floor, providing team members with real-time, contextualised production steps and specifications. Empowering our team with such tools can revolutionise our manufacturing processes, leading to greater efficiency and quality.

As leaders in the garment industry, we understand the importance of staying ahead of the curve and embracing emerging technologies. While not every idea may be ready for implementation now, the Hannover Fair reaffirmed our belief that exploring new concepts is essential for driving future success. What may not work today could be the game-changer of tomorrow!

We were honoured to host the esteemed Quality team from Patagonia at VT Garment (VTG) in Thailand! This visit exemplifies the strength and transparency of our partnership, which continues to evolve and thrive.
During their visit, the Patagonia Quality team delved deep into our production lines and immersed themselves in a course on Quality Control Circle (QCC). They discovered firsthand that QCC isn’t just a process at VTG; it’s ingrained in our corporate culture. As Winston Churchill famously said, “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often,” and this sentiment resonates strongly as we gear up for VT’s 33rd QCC competition.
The Patagonia Quality team witnessed the passion, determination, and ingenuity of our team members through engaging QCC presentations. They break boundaries, identifying inefficiencies, streamlining processes, and enhancing standards. It’s moments like these that reinforce our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
