Yesterday, VT Garment (VTG) hosted its 2nd Kaizen PASTa competition, and the energy was electric! We received an overwhelming response, with over 20 innovative topics submitted. After careful consideration, our team selected 8 outstanding topics to be presented during lunchtime in the canteen.
What’s PASTa? PASTa isn’t just a meal; it’s a game-changing approach!
It stands for Pick up, Align, Sew, Trim, and Aside – a revolutionary concept, championed by Methods Apparel Consultancy India, that empowers our sewing operators. With PASTa, we’re all about saving time, working smarter, and maximising needle time.
Dual-Hand Mastery: Utilising both hands whenever possible has become our golden rule. This simple adjustment significantly boosts efficiency, reduces processing times, and maximizes needle time.
Stoppages No More: PASTa emphasizes techniques to minimise stoppages, ensuring an uninterrupted flow of work.
The “Aside” Focus: Many of the topics presented yesterday centered around the second “a” in PASTa – “Aside.” The emphasis is on ensuring that operators consider the next operator as their customer. They do everything possible to deliver the parts in a manner that allows the next operator to quickly pick up, align, and start sewing.
Universal Applicability: The brilliance of PASTa lies in its simplicity. These techniques aren’t exclusive – they’re for everyone in our sewing factory. Let’s foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and efficiency!
Shoutout to Our Sewing Operators: To our incredible sewing operators: You’ve embraced the PASTa philosophy with enthusiasm and dedication. Your commitment to working smarter inspires us all!
Let’s keep innovating and working smarter!
