Celebrating Sustainability and Conscious Choices: Wendy Savage’s Visit to VT Garment
By Shark | Business | No Comments
Today, We are thrilled to share an exciting development at VT Garment—a company committed to weaving sustainability into its fabric.
Wendy Savage, the Senior Director of Social Impact & Transparency at Patagonia, graced our facility with her presence. Together with our Managing Director, Chalumpon Lotharukpong, Wendy is set to deliver a thought-provoking talk at the upcoming Techsauce Global Summit 2024. The topic? “From Thread to Conscious Choice: A Journey of Sustainability and Meaningful Work.”
The Patagonia Legacy: Quality, Care, and Purpose
Patagonia—a brand synonymous with quality outdoor gear—has a rich legacy. It’s not just about technical excellence; it’s about a deep-rooted commitment to people and the planet. This philosophy, passed down to suppliers like VT Garment, emphasises conscious choices. We believe that quality over quantity ensures products that last a lifetime—items that can be handed down to future generations.
The 3 Ps: Debunking Trade-offs
In our talk, we’ll explore the powerful trifecta of the 3 Ps: People, Planet, Profit. Too often, there’s a misconception that doing good comes at the expense of profitability. But here’s the truth: Companies that prioritise sustainability often outperform their peers. The key lies in excelling at the fundamentals—balancing purpose with prosperity.
Witnessing Sustainability in Action
Today, Wendy had a firsthand experience of our sustainable practices. Our Smart Lean operation—a harmonious blend of efficiency and eco-consciousness—left an impression. She observed our waste recycling program, which diverted over 26% of waste from landfills. And she even rolled up her sleeves and joined our Kaizen competition in the canteen!
Save the Date: August 8, 2024
We’re eagerly anticipating Wendy and Chalumpon’s talk. It promises to be a beacon of inspiration for all of us—whether we’re in the textile industry or simply passionate about making a positive impact.
Thank you, Wendy, for your visit, and thank you to our entire VT Garment team for embodying purpose-driven work. Let’s continue weaving sustainability into every stitch!
