VT Garment Internal PLC Competition: Building the Future of Automation

By Shark | Business | No Comments

At VT Garment, we believe that innovation starts with knowledge and practice. Thanks to the Thai-German Institute, our team has learned how to write PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs—an essential skill for modern manufacturing.

Why is PLC still critical in the age of AI?

PLC systems remain the backbone of factory automation. They provide reliable, real-time control for machines and processes, ensuring safety, precision, and consistency. While AI brings intelligence and predictive capabilities, PLC ensures that the physical operations run smoothly and efficiently. Together, they form a powerful synergy for Industry 4.0.

The competition is hands-on: two teams compete to connect the wiring and write PLC programs to automate a process. The task? A repeatable cycle where a plastic ball travels down a rail slope, gets pushed by a lever into a lift, and is transported back to the top—ready to start again. It sounds simple, but it demands teamwork, PLC programming skills, and pneumatic knowledge.

Training and constant practice empower us to automate repetitive tasks, maintain systems in excellent condition, and uphold high productivity and quality standards. This is how we stay competitive and future-ready.

As Peter Drucker once said:

“Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes.”

Our PLC competition embodies this principle—continuous learning for continuous improvement.
